I remember a story of a couple snowed into a car, with the woman suffering from some kind of deficiency which meant she had to eat or face some attack (diabetes possibly?) the man cut parts of his flesh and cooked them using the cigarette lighter to keep her going. That's love. I'm not sure if I'm remember the story right, but I think the woman never got over the sacrifice and started feeding him her flesh after the event, but forgetting to cook it he ended up with some horrible skin living bacteria poisoning his blood. Or something.
Anyway, I always thought it was a subconscious mix of my actual love of red meat and our generations nanny supreme that is Zombie Horror that forced me to think about it at all. I mean, it's not normal. I've discovered recently that it might again be the part of linguistics to play here, ,like Leo in inception planting the seed of a delicious human tree.
A friend of mine who I spent a good amount of time growing up with in Iraq posted some translated literal meanings of sweets from arabic; A lifetime of hearing them numbs you to the actual meaning, for example:
Zunood al-sit: A type of Creamy pastry
lit. lady's forearms.
Ras al-abd: Chocolate cake ball,
lit. slave's head.
Khudood al-ajooz: Marshmallows,
lit. old man's cheeks.
Asabi' al-aroos: small candy sticks,
lit. bride's fingers
Zib il-qadhi: Candy-cane,
lit. judge's dick.
So yeah. For a culture that wont eat pigs because they're dirty, we sure love the smooth taste of a judges dick.
